WhiteWater Trip  -  July 2003

Seven Explorers and four Leaders spent six days on the French River, just south of Sudbury, Ontario.
We began at Wolesley Bay, and canoed through Five Mile Rapids to Hwy. 69

Our Explorers had prepared for this with several white water instructional days and several workshops on river running and safety.

High water made it possible to run all of the rapids, but there were a few upsets along the way.

Big Pine Rapids and Blue Chute were the most fun to run.  When bored of doing with canoes, many Explorers decided to swim through the rapids with just helmet and life jackets.

The second half of the trip was very serene.  Boys enjoyed just sitting and watching the sun set in a firey, awesome sky.  Lazy lunches were had while drifting down the river in our canoes.  And there was a lot of swimming as we were fortunate to have beautiful, sunny days.
